AHAR
The Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR) is an annual report to Congress about the number and characteristics of people who use homeless residential services and their patterns of use. The current AHAR can cover an entire CoC or a jurisdiction within a CoC, including the residential programs located in those areas. Information submitted to Congress for AHAR comes directly from BAS-Net.
The AHAR reporting cycle runs from October 1st – September 30th of each year. Data included in the AHAR is collected from Emergency Shelters, Transitional Housing and Permanent Supportive Housing and consists of HUD’s Universal Data Elements, as well as CoC Exhibit 1 data (Housing Inventory data; Populations Chart and Subpopulations Chart). Information collected is broke down into two categories: Individual or Family.
