Street Survey 2008

On January 24, 2008, the community will embark upon a 24-hour Street Survey of those accessing soup kitcehns, food pantries, and shelters throughout Erie County.

This is an opportunity for the community to learn more about the needs of those experiencing poverty and homelessness and what we can do in the future to end homelessness.

If you would like to get involved with the planning of the Street Survey, planning meetings and minutes from past meetings are listed below.

Attention! Donations Needed!!!
The Homeless Alliance is in need of the following items. Please contact Joan Dutchess Freidson (853-1101 x21) if you are able to make any donations:

1) Pens – 250

2) Clip boards – 100

3)Bus tokens (to give as thank you gifts to survey participants) 2,000

4) Copies – because of the amount of copies we need of the surveys and manuals it would be great if each member agency can agree to take on a chunk of that, such as 100 copies per agency.   We need 10,000 copies total.

5) Financial contributions

Identifying key street locations and community gatekeepers for administering surveys to those residing on the streets

Identifying locations throughout the county where the surveys can be taken

Logistics Committee
Coordinating the logistics of the survey such as "day of" headquarters, transportation, weather contingencies, media coordination, etc.
