Welcome to the kick-off of the Homeless Alliance of Western New York’s media watch and commentary blog.

In an effort to fulfill our mission of “facilitating dialogue and strategic action to end homelessness”, the Homeless Alliance will publish this blog regularly to provide links to homelessness-related stories in the media that are shaping public dialogue – for better or for worse. The Alliance will also provide links to up-to-date research and reports on homelessness and poverty; you can also find local information on homelessness, as well as important meetings and local happenings, posted here and on our calendar.

To get a better idea of the stance of the Homeless Alliance, you can visit the “Who We Are” tab at the top of this page or read the “Myths and Facts” tabs, which provides a local context for understanding homelessness in Buffalo and Erie County.
