The solution to homelessness is a home.

More than 7,000 people in Western New York experience homelessness each year.

Right now, only one in five people experiencing homelessness can access the housing and support they need.

Ending homelessness requires more than individual programs. It requires collaboration, leadership, and a community-wide commitment to lasting solutions.

This is the work of the Homeless Alliance of WNY.

We bring organizations, resources, and community partners together to strengthen our region’s response to homelessness and expand access to housing, services, and support.

Your Give 716 donation helps strengthen the partnerships, leadership, and coordination needed to make homelessness rare, brief, and one-time.

Because the solution to homelessness is a home.

Together We Can End Homelessness in WNY

Most people in Western New York have never heard of the Homeless Alliance.

And that’s okay.

Much of the work that creates lasting change happens behind the scenes. It’s the coordination, planning, and partnerships that help communities respond more effectively to homelessness and ensure resources reach the people who need them most.

We aren’t the organization handing someone the keys to a new apartment. We’re the organization helping make sure the entire system works together so those keys can be handed over in the first place.

For more than 20 years, we’ve brought providers together, coordinated resources, connected funding opportunities, and strengthened collaboration across five counties—helping ensure that no organization has to tackle homelessness alone.

Because no one organization can end homelessness alone.

Behind every number is a real person.

Homelessness can affect anyone. It impacts people of all ages and backgrounds who are facing challenges such as rising housing costs, unexpected financial hardship, health concerns, family crises, or other circumstances beyond their control.

A child doing homework in a shelter. A parent working two jobs and still struggling to afford rent. An older adult choosing between medication and housing. A veteran searching for stability after years of service.

No one should have to wonder where they will sleep tonight. No parent should have to choose between paying rent or putting food on the table. No older adult should lose housing after a lifetime of contributing to their community.

We do this work because everyone deserves the safety, stability, and dignity of a place to call home.

Because homelessness is more than a housing issue. It’s a human one.

The need has never been greater.

In 2026, Western New York recorded the highest Point-in-Time count in our region’s history:

  • 2,188 people experiencing homelessness across Erie, Niagara, Genesee, Orleans, and Wyoming counties
  • A 24% increase from 2025
  • Nearly half were families
  • Nearly one-third were children under 18

Behind these numbers are thousands of people in our community searching for safety, stability, and a place to call home.

And today? Our region has the capacity to serve only a fraction of those who need help.

That is why strengthening our homelessness response system—and expanding access to housing and support—has never been more important.

Because behind every number is someone still waiting for a place to call home.

Help More People Find Their Way Home

The Homeless Alliance brings people, organizations, and communities together to address homelessness across WNY.

We coordinate response efforts across five counties, support housing providers and community partners, advocate for resources and solutions, and work to expand access to housing opportunities for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Behind the scenes, we connect organizations, align resources, secure funding, and use data to strengthen our region’s homelessness response.

We help communities work smarter, respond faster, and serve more people in need.

Every connection, every partnership, and every solution brings us closer to ending homelessness in Western New York.

Every person experiencing homelessness has a story, a future, and the potential to thrive when given the support and opportunities they deserve.

Behind every success story is a community that chose to come together—housing providers, service organizations, local leaders, advocates, and supporters all working toward the same goal.

Together, we can strengthen the partnerships, coordination, and housing solutions that help people move from crisis to stability and from uncertainty to a place they can call home.

Your Give 716 donation helps make that progress possible across Western New York.

Join us in building a future where everyone has the opportunity to find safety, stability, and a place to call home.
