About The Award-Winning Film

No Place to Grow Old explores the growing crisis of senior homelessness through the powerful stories of three older adults navigating life without a home in Portland, Oregon.

Blending personal experiences with insights from experts, the award-winning documentary highlights the challenges of homelessness while offering a hopeful vision for solutions that ensure everyone has a safe and stable place to call home.

Is the event free to attend?
Yes! The screening and community discussion are completely free, but we ask that you RSVP in advance to help us plan for attendance.

Everyone is welcome. Whether you’re a community member, service provider, student, policymaker, advocate, or simply interested in learning more about homelessness, we encourage you to join us.

Where will the event be held?
The screening will take place inside Mason O. Damon Auditorium at the Downtown Central Library (Buffalo & Erie County Public Library), located at 1 Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo.

Where can I park?
Free on-street parking is available throughout the City of Buffalo after 5:00 PM. Several paid parking lots and garages are also located within a short walk of the library.

Will there be a discussion after the film?
Yes. Following the screening, attendees are invited to stay for a community discussion on homelessness, housing, and local solutions in Western New York.

Do I need to stay for the discussion?
While you’re welcome to attend only the film, we encourage everyone to stay for the discussion to continue the conversation, ask questions, and connect with others in the community.

Is the film appropriate for all ages?
No Place to Grow Old explores the realities of homelessness and includes mature themes that may not be suitable for younger viewers. Parents and guardians should use their discretion when deciding whether the film is appropriate for children.
